Being Thankful

Every year around Thanksgiving, the blogosphere is in full blown “What I’m Thankful For” mode. Some people may think that it’s mundane, and that people tend to repeat themselves year to year.

My thought about that is this: What in the world is wrong with that?!

As someone who recognizes just how blessed I am, and realizes just how many things I have to be thankful for, I say shout it out and repeat, repeat, repeat. I may have things on my thankful list that I have had before, but that doesn’t mean I’m any less thankful than I was the first, or the twelfth, time that I said “Thank You!”

This year, I’m giving thanks for a wonderfully supportive husband and father. He helps with our homeschooling, helps around the house, and listens to me when I need him to. I’m so very thankful that I get to spend every day with my children, watching them learn and grow into amazing young men.  I’m grateful for my small, but no less fabulous, tight-knit circle of family and friends.

Share with me what’s on your thankful list, won’t you?

Enjoying Fall

The transition from summer to fall is one of my favorites. I love to see the leaves changing. I love to feel the temperatures drop so I can pull out the warmer sweaters and hoodies. I love the fall food and drinks, like hot cocoa, warm apple cider and pumpkin everything!

In so many parts of the country fall seems very short lived. In the south it goes from hot to cold and back to hot on a pretty good rotation. In the north, you go from summer to snow fall… not a lot of fall type weather in either region.

I like to hold onto fall for as long as I can. One way to do this is to get outside and enjoy every minute. Taking a leisurely drive with the family to see the leaves is always nice and one of our most favorite activities, second only to attending as many small town fall festivals as we can. We also like to burn fall scented candles around the house, just to keep ourselves enveloped in autumn when we can’t be outside.

What are some of the ways that you enjoy and hang onto fall?
